Chester
, PA—With the 2014 collegiate soccer season under way, the final weekend of the regular season is already circled on calendars from West Point to Annapolis. Army and Navy have officially entered into a contract extension of their original agreement with Keystone Sports & Entertainment, LLC, owners of Philadelphia Union of Major League Soccer.

This new four-year agreement ensures that Army-Navy Cup will be part of the Greater Philadelphia Region’s sports scene through 2017.

“We’re proud to host these two extraordinary Academies at PPL Park for the third straight year,” said Philadelphia Union CEO & Operating Partner Nick Sakiewicz. “The excitement continues to grow with the recent signing of a four-year extension to keep this national event coming back to PPL Park through 2017 and hopefully beyond. We look forward to another spirited battle between these fraternal rivals.”

Both Army and Navy look to continue last year’s success and quality of play as both teams reached the Patriot League Playoffs. Coming off of their 2013 Patriot League Championship, the Midshipmen of Navy (3-2-1) began the season ranked #25 nationally and recently achieved an impressive victory over #10 Maryland. The Black Knights of Army (2-1-3) are determined to reclaim the Army-Navy Cup en route to the Patriot League Championship.

"Exciting times that we have been able to continue this wonderful relationship with Philadelphia and the Union,” said Chet Gladchuck, Director of Athletics at the U.S. Naval Academy. “Our coaches and players really enjoy the stadium, and to play our greatest rival in a spectacular and electric setting is fantastic.

Great crowds, energy, atmosphere and super soccer...how can you beat it!"

"We are very excited to take part in the Army-Navy Cup for the third year in a row and celebrate one of the great rivalries in college athletics,” said Army Director of Athletics Boo Corrigan. “Army-Navy soccer has been extremely competitive in recent seasons and we look forward to another great match this November. We would also like to thank the ownership group at Philadelphia Union and PPL Park, for providing a professional stage to showcase the Army-Navy rivalry."
